Synthos Featured in the “Yearbook 2025” UNGC Report
Synthos has been included in the “Yearbook 2025” published by the UN Global Compact Network Poland – an annual report showcasing the actions of companies committed to implementing the 2030 Agenda.
The “Yearbook 2025” highlights key activities of institutions and enterprises affiliated with UNGC over the past twelve months. The publication features in-depth expert analyses, an overview of local initiatives, and examples of best practices from Polish businesses in advancing sustainable development.
Zbigniew Warmuz, CEO of Synthos S.A., contributes an article on innovation that strengthens industrial competitiveness while supporting sustainability.
Being part of this year’s report reflects international recognition of our efforts in the field of innovation. The UN Global Compact Leaders Summit in New York enabled Synthos specialists from the Schkopau plant in Germany to present sustainable solutions for the rubber sector. Presentations by Bernhard Gregori – a chemist in the R&D department – and Mats Hasche – an engineer at the pilot plant – were the result of their involvement in the SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals program, through which they developed a project supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
“Thanks to the real challenge we were given, we could progress through all stages of problem-solving, from identifying the issue to the testing phase. Participation in the program was extremely valuable, allowing us not only to work practically on innovations but also to discover inspiring projects from other organizations and gain a deeper understanding of the concept of sustainable development,” say Bernhard Gregori and Mats Hasche.
The Synthos Group, with its plants in Poland and Germany, is a proud member of the Global Compact initiative and actively supports its mission – striving for real progress in sustainable development through the implementation of the SDGs.
“Joining UN Global Compact is not just a declaration – it is a responsibility. At Synthos, sustainability is embedded in our DNA, from creating innovative, low-emission chemical solutions to investing in circular economy technologies. We believe the chemical industry can and should be a force for positive change,” says Marjolein Groeneweg, Global Marketing Director, Synthetic Rubber at Synthos.
The official launch of the “Yearbook 2025” took place during the UN Day Gala, held this year on October 24 in Warsaw. A recording of the event is available here.
