Synthos has signed a contract with Ansaldo Energia for the supply of the 80 MW AE64.3 gas turbine together with the supervision over its assembly and start-up. The accompanying contract is a long-term service contract ensuring optimisation of the costs of repair works.
The signing of the contract for the supply of the gas turbine is the completion of the first, key phase of the contracting process of the CCGT unit which will be built in the Oświęcim plant.
The entire investment is assumed to be completed by the end of 2023. The goal is to achieve readiness to fulfil the obligations resulting from winning the bidding as part of the Power Market from 01/01/2024.
The CCGT unit construction project will enable the change of the fuel mix used at the existing CHP plant. The reduction of the share of coal from approx. 80% to 30% is in line with Synthos Group's decarbonisation strategy and will have a positive impact on the environment.
