Incident at the Synthos Dwory site
On June 21, 2024, at around 11:30 a.m., at a plant owned by Synthos Dwory 7 Sp. z o.o. in Oświęcim, the ignition occurred on one of the production facilities during line start-up. The fire penetrated the roof through the exhaust ventilation of the production installation.
Departments of the Company Fire Department and the State Fire Service immediately joined the firefighting operation. Immediately, the employees were evacuated and the rest of the installation was stopped, and the scene and the area around the building were secured. Thanks to the quick response, the situation was brought under control and the fire was extinguished, thus posing no threat to neighboring production installations and the immediate surroundings of the Synthos Dwory 7 production plant.
As a result of the incident, one person was injured, who was immediately given the necessary assistance and then transported to the hospital. We would like to assure that we are taking all necessary steps to provide him with full care and support.
We would also like to emphasize that no substances hazardous to residents and the environment were released, and our company is in constant contact with local services as well as the Provincial Environmental Inspectorate and the State Fire Service to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
