Contract for a new steam turbine
On 17th of March 2021 Synthos Dwory 7 concluded a contract with the Czech company EKOL for the turnkey delivery of turbogenerator equipment with an output of ca. 32 MW, with a back-pressure steam turbine EST 50BE. The turbine will be installed in Oswiecim plant as a part of the CCGT project ensuring the production of electricity and technological steam. The execution date is 24 months from the conclusion of the contract.
The combined cycle gas turbine unit has currently the highest efficiency of electricity generation. The unit will both produce the heat needed for production in the company’s chemical plants and, thanks to cogeneration, generate more electrical power, which will be allocated for sale on energy market. The entire investment is assumed to be completed by the end of 2023.
The CCGT unit construction project will enable the change of fuel mix used at the existing CHP plant. It is in line with Synthos Group’s decarbonisation strategy and will have a positive impact on the environment.
